Soccer in Belgium

Belgian soccer is technical and tactically flexible, with a strong focus on youth development. Expect well-organized clubs and good facilities.

Belgium is compact. Mechelen lies between Brussels and Antwerp, Tubize just outside Brussels, and Geel, home of our Yellow Soccer Cup, about 45 minutes from Antwerp.

Cities to visit on a soccer tour in Belgium

A Belgian tour moves between a few well-connected cities for training, matches and sightseeing.

  • Brussels

The capital and home of the European Union, with the Grand Place, the Atomium and Belgian chocolate.

  • Mechelen

Home of KV Mechelen, a top-flight club with one of Belgium's best youth academies, halfway between Brussels and Antwerp.

  • Tubize

Home of Proximus Basecamp near Brussels, the training complex of the Belgian national teams since 2021.

  • Antwerp

A port city and a practical base for the Yellow Soccer Cup in Geel, about 45 minutes away.

  • Bruges and Ghent

Bruges for its canals, Ghent for its lively streets. Either makes a good day out between sessions.

Impressions

What teams say

  • We, Victoria 17-1, had a fantastic weekend. The distance between the hotel and ASV Geel was perfect, the hotel and breakfast were great, and the hotel location was excellent. We also really enjoyed attending the match on Friday evening, the tournament schedule, and both lunches. A special thanks to all the helpful and hardworking people from the club and the organization. Everything was top-notch!
